Ass.Prof. Dace Zavadska is a paediatric infectious diseases specialist currently working as senior PID specialist and the Head of Children Vaccination Centre under Children Clinical University Hospital, Riga, Latvia and associate professor in Riga Stradins University. She also takes the position of the Chair of the State Immunization Council (NITAG) under the Ministry of Health of Latvia. She is also a consultant and keeps active membership in organisations related to vaccines and vaccination strategies. She has completed her M.D. and PhD degree from Riga Stradins University, Riga, Latvia. She has an in-depth understanding of various aspects of immunization and its programs in Latvia and Europe. Currently, she is also a consultant for the Centre of Disease Prevention and Control of Latvia for state projects regarding vaccine-preventable diseases, maintains active membership in organisations related to vaccines and vaccination strategies, and is a core member of EU/EEA NITAGs group at ECDC. She is a leading researcher-scientific project manager in several ongoing studies regarding vaccines and vaccine-controlled infections. Prof. Dace Zavadska has published more than 60 research and review articles on child health, vaccine-preventable diseases. She has also received reviewer credit from a number of national and international medical journals. Her contributions have been acknowledged in many national and international level guidelines and recommendations, books, and journals.
