Alison Maassen joined EuroHealthNet in September 2018 as Senior Coordinator. She supports the Director and Programme Manager in developing and implementing EuroHealthNet’s operational objectives. She is responsible for overseeing EuroHealthNet’s business plan and programming to ensure the timely delivery of outputs and deliverables, as well as managing the organization’s operational grant. Alison contributes to membership recruitment and retention activities, country exchange visits, and General Council meetings and leads the development and implementation of EuroHealthNet’s European Solidarity Corps placement program. Alison brings significant experience in project and association management to EuroHealthNet, as well as experience in designing and implementing health promotion interventions at the community level. Before joining EuroHealthNet, she worked extensively in the field of immunization, serving as Programme Manager for the Network for Education and Support in Immunisation at the University of Antwerp and as a founding member of the Secretariat for the International Association of Immunization Managers at the Sabin Vaccine Institute in Washington DC. Alison holds an MSc in Public Health (Health Promotion) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a BA in International Affairs and Anthropology from The George Washington University in Washington DC. She has worked at the global and (sub)national level with policymakers, health professionals, community leaders, researchers, and other stakeholders from regions as diverse as Latin America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia.
